Why I Chose Animas
I chose Animas High School (AHS) because I thought that it would provide a superior learning experience where I could obtain a deeper understanding of the content taught through project-based learning and critical thinking. I'm more of a visual learner, and I thought that project-based learning would make it easier for me to learn in that specific way. At other schools throughout my life, I have not been pushed academically, and in coming to Animas I have noticed a difference. There are many more options here, like challenge extensions, which I could complete if I felt that I wasn't being challenged enough with the regular school work in class. I also heard good things from the community about the culture at Animas. The school environment really values student teacher relationships, and connections between lower and upper class men. I think the idea of exhibitions is very important, and it's valuable for many people who may struggle with public speaking, as it prepares students for life after school. I'm excited to spend my high school years at a great school, where I can grow as a student and individual.
